Our Specialty: Office Design and Office Building Project Management
These days almost all architects specialize in one areas or another, in our case the area we specialize in is designing office buildings. This allows us to have an expertise in the field so that we can design buildings that best meet the needs of our clients. However we go far beyond just the design, we are involved in the project right to the end as we will even manage construction.
Office design can be one of the biggest challenges that an architect will face which is one of the reasons that we really enjoy working in the field. The reason is that office buildings probably have more involved with them than any other type of building. The days where all offices looked the same are long gone as most companies want to have an office that really stands out. This gives us a lot of freedom about what we can do but we can't go to wild because we do have to keep the primary goal of the office in mind.
The purpose of an office is to be a work space and that requires that we be able to get the best out of the workers. This requires some real effort on the part of the designer and really takes us into areas that are beyond basic architecture. We have to think about things like the most efficient layout so that time isn't being wasted and even psychology which has a pretty big impact on the way that the office is designed. This is what sets us apart from a lot of other designers who focus almost entirely on making the office look good, there is a lot more to it than that.
Of course designing the building is just the start of the process, although it is also the end for a lot of architects. In our case however we will work with you to get all of the regulatory approval and to solicit bids for the construction of the building. A lot of other firms would require that you find somebody else to handle all of this but we feel that to get best results we should be involved in the project from start to finish.
As part of our belief that we should stay involved in the project right to the end we are also involved in project management. There are lots of good reasons that you would want to involve the designers in the management of the project. The biggest of these is that they will have the best knowledge of what the end product is supposed to be. In addition there will almost certainly be changes necessary during the construction phase, having the architects involved will ensure that these changes are made in the most efficient way possible with the least change to the design of the building.
